Modcon Living Welcomes New Executive Director

Modcon Living is pleased to welcome Denise Nembhard as its new executive director.

In addition to serving as our interim executive director, Denise has most recently led a consulting business that caters to nonprofits and served as the director of finance for several regional homeless shelters. She holds an MBA in organizational development and several specialized certifications.

“Modcon Living programs have become essential to maintaining safe and comfortable homes for countless community members,” Denise Nembhard said. “We remain dedicated to providing programs and services that uplift communities and provide vital services for at-risk homeowners.”

Modcon Living’s Safe at Home program provides emergency home repair services for vulnerable, low-income homeowners, including seniors, Veterans, and those with disabilities. Modcon Living leverages local licensed contractors to provide home maintenance services to area residents to help fund the Safe at Home program.

The popular Tool Library has become a staple for area residents and community gardens, offering residents access to more than 4,800 tools. Memberships are available for individuals, including seniors, students, and Veterans, as well as special memberships for renters, nonprofits, educators, and community gardens.

“Denise is an asset to our organization,” said Mike Ream, Tool Library manager. “With her leadership, we look forward to reenergizing and enhancing our essential programs and helping homeowners age in place safely.”
